Dr. Hanfland

Dr. Matthew L. Hanfland has been practicing dentistry since 1999. After moving to the Omaha area in 2003, he joined Georgetowne Family Dentistry. In 2008, he opened Dental Innovations with the goal of providing the most modern and patient -friendly dental care in Omaha and the surrounding areas.

Dr. Hanfland earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of California at Riverside in 1995. In 1999, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, Illinois.

Immediately following Dental School, he served in the United States Navy. His first duty station was at Great Lakes Naval Training Center where he treated the men and women going through Boot Camp. He was then transferred to the Marine Corps Air Station, Mira Mar (formerly known as Top Gun) near San Diego, California.

During this time, he was sent with the Marines to Kuwait to serve in Operation Iraqi Freedom. While in Kuwait, he was doing dentistry out of tents with limited supplies. It was a dangerous time but he feels he’s a better dentist for the experience and feels enormous pride to have served his country.

During his childhood, Dr. Hanfland lived in Papillion, Nebraska where he and his wife, Kimberly, were high school sweethearts at Papillion-LaVista High school. When Dr. Hanfland finished his active duty, he and his wife chose to raise their family in the Omaha area. Moving back to Papillion felt like coming home. The Hanflands now have three daughters, Emilie, Olivia and Kayla. In his spare time, Dr. Hanfland enjoys spending time with his family and traveling whenever possible.
